Eight-time All-Star and NBA champion Dwight David Howard II is an American basketball center who is currently a free agent. He last played for the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League.

Howard was born on December 8, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., and attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He averaged 16.6 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 6.3 blocks per game in 129 appearances in high school. As a senior, he averaged 25.0 points, 18.0 rebounds, 8.1 blocks, and 3.5 assists per game. Howard was touted as the best American high school basketball player of his class.

He was also the recipient of numerous honors during his time in high school. They were the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award, the Morgan Wootten High School Player of the Year Award, the Gatorade National Player of the Year, and the McDonald's National High School Player of the Year.

The Orlando Magic drafted Dwight Howard first overall in the 2004 NBA Draft. He spent a total of 18 seasons in the NBA during his career. During that time, he has played for the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, and the Philadelphia 76ers. He won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

Howard is an eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year. He made the switch to the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League in Taiwan in 2022, with a salary reported to be over $1 million.

He was named a T1 All-Star in his first season with the team. Howard has also won gold with the United States National team 2008 Beijing Olympics and at the FIBA Americas Championship in 2007.
