Harrison Barnes is an American small forward/power forward who plays for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Born on May 30, 1992, in Ames, Iowa, U.S., Barnes attended Ames High School. He graduated from there as their All-time leading scorer with 1,787 points. He was rated as the number one player in the class of 2010 by Scout.com, and number two by Rivals.com.

Barnes won the prestigious Morgan Wootten Player of the Year Award on March 10, 2010, an award that goes to the nation's top player. He committed to playing college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

On March 29, 2012, Barnes was selected seventh overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2012 NBA Draft. He spent four seasons with them, during which he won an NBA championship, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals in six games.

Barnes then signed with the Dallas Mavericks on July 9, 2016, on a four-year $94 million contract. He made his debut for them on October 26, 2016, in their season opener against the Indiana Pacers. However, Barnes was traded to the Sacramento Kings mid-season on February 6, 2019, in exchange for Zach Randolph and Justin Jackson.

He made his Kings debut two days after getting traded against the Miami Heat. This offseason, Barnes signed a three-year $54 million extension with the Kings. He scored his career-high 36 points against the Trail Blazers on October 20, 2021.
