Jonathan Isaac

Jonathan Isaac was drafted with the sixth overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2017 NBA Draft. He has elevated Orlando's defense in the paint and is a shot eraser. Nothing gets past Isaac and he is not afraid to rise and defend opposing players’ shots and dunks.

Isaac is famously known for not taking a knee for the Black Lives Matter stance. Back in the NBA Bubble, NBA players wore ‘Black Lives Matter’ t-shirts and took a knee, but Isaac stood tall. He did not stand with the movement because of his faith in Christ and said that he did not believe in “putting that shirt on and that kneeling went hand-in-hand with supporting Black lives.”

In the 2019-2020 NBA season, Isaac had his best season, where he averaged 11.9 points, 2.3 blocks, 1.6 steals and 6.8 rebounds. He shot 47.0% from the field, including a decent 34.0% from 3-point range.

Last week, Isaac played back-to-back games for the first time in nearly four years. Due to an ACL injury, he missed the past two seasons and is still trying to get back to his best. Many Orlando fans expect Isaac to be a defensive force in the near future.

How much is Jonathan Isaac getting paid?

Isaac signed a four-year $69,600,000 contract with the Orlando Magic in December of 2020. This is his second contract and previously he was on a four-year $22,324,406 rookie contract, also with the Orlando Magic.

How much does Jonathan Isaac make in a minute?

Isaac’s salary for the 2023/24 season is $17,400,000. However, only $7.6 million of that is guaranteed for this season. Now one year is known to have 525,600 minutes. If his guaranteed salary is divided by the number of minutes available in a year, then Isaac makes around $14.4 in a minute.

Isaac has stated that he takes the NBA as his platform to perform various deeds for his Lord and will most likely give back to the community. Either way, Isaac is financially savvy and has multiple business ventures outside of the NBA.

Jonathan Isaac Career Earnings

After the end of the 2023/24 season, Isaac’s career earnings should amount up to $74,161,504 million. In the 2022/23 and 2021/22 NBA season, Isaac received $17,400,000 million respectively, amounting up to $34,800,000 in total.

What are the terms of Jonathan Isaac’s Contract?

Isaac is currently on a four-year $69,600,000 deal with the Orlando Magic. His contract includes an exhibit 3, which could limit his salary projection. Isaac suffered an ACL tear which made him unavailable to play for two seasons. So it is a risky contract to say the least for the Magic.

His 2023/24 season salary is not fully guaranteed and Isaac may only receive $7,600,000. It is a partially guaranteed contract because Isaac missed the entire 2020/21 and 2021/22 NBA season. If he does not play the majority of the season, Isaac may soon be out of the Magic’s roster.

How much of Jonathan Isaac’s Contract is guaranteed?

Isaac signed a four-year $69.6 million deal with the Orlando Magic and is guaranteed $42,400,000 million. He has already received $34,800,000 so far.

His salary this season is partially guaranteed. If he plays for most of the season, Isaac will receive $17,400,000, but if he misses the majority, he will only get $7,600,000. Whereas for the 2024/25 season, his salary is not guaranteed. Magic have remained patient with Isaac’s injury but if it continues to prevail, he may not be part of the team going forward.

Jonathan Isaac Contract History

Isaac’s first contract with the Orlando Magic was rookie-level four year $22.3 million contract. He received an annual average salary of $5,581,102 and was guaranteed $9,155,400. Whereas his second contract is a four-year $69.6 million contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent by 2025.
