Victor Moritz “Mo” Wagner is a German basketball player. He has previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics in the NBA. He is currently playing in the Forward-Center position for the Orlando Magic in the NBA.


Mo Wagner was born on April 26, 1997 in Berlin, Germany. He is the older brother of fellow basketball player Franz Wagner. He played basketball in Alba Berlin and at the University of Michigan before joining the NBA. He made his NBA debut for the Los Angeles Lakers on November 17, 2018. He has gained achievements like being a member of the Big Ten Tournament MOP in 2018. He was also a member of the Second Team All-Big Ten in 2018. Besides playing for the NBA, Mo Wagner has also represented Germany at the 2014 FIBA Europe U18 Championship in Bulgaria.


Wagner has notched up a PPG of 10.5 with a RPG of 4.5, APG of 1.5 and a PIE of 11.5 He will be playing for the German National Basketball Team in the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Mo Wagner’s mother is Beate Wagner. She is a freelance medical writer. She gave his eldest son an opportunity to try out basketball. Initially, Mo Wagner was a fan of soccer and loved playing it with his brother. However, his son jokingly says that Beate Wagner did not like to see her son playing soccer as it would involve her standing outside in the rain. That is why she emphasized to her son to take up a gym based sport. Moreover, she also felt that Mo Wagner would benefit from playing basketball because of his tall height.


She watched her son play against the Boston Celtics and was very proud of her son as a basketball player.
