Roberta has been a former assistant coach of volleyball at Winthrop University while Nick has been a professional Basketball player and a senior coach.

Additionally, the couple holds a strong bond and holds each other back whenever needed. Roberta is often seen cheering for his husband in the NBA court and one such incident was seen in 2019, when Toronto Raptors headed by Nick Nurse as a head coach won their first franchise title.
