Born on May 5, 1985, Anthony Leon "P. J." Tucker Jr. is an American professional basketball player. He is currently signed with the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association for whom he plays as a power forward.
Tucker was brought up in Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S. He attended William G. Enloe High School and was voted the North Carolina Player of the Year in 2003. Tucker also spent a brief period in Germany during his childhood, while his father served in the army. He would go on to enroll at the University of Texas at Austin, where he played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns.
The Toronto Raptors picked up Tucker in the 2006 NBA Draft with the 35th overall pick. Tucker has since gone on to play for the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
His biggest coup in basketball was arguably winning the NBA championship with the Bucks in 2021. He's also won multiple championships overseas, including the Israeli Super League and the German League. He was voted the MVP of the Israeli Super League and the German League Finals.
