Stephen Curry was picked seventh overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Draft. Curry is widely regarded as the best shooter of all time and he has won four championships to date. During the 2022/23 season, Curry became the all-time leader in 3-pointers made, overtaking basketball legend Ray Allen. Curry won his last championship in 2022 when the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in six games. He won his first Finals MVP that season.

Stephen Curry Parents

Stephen Curry's parents are Dell Curry and Sonya Curry. Long before Stephen was making his mark on the NBA, his father Dell Curry was already a player in the professional league playing with teams such as Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Toronto Raptors. Although Dell Curry was not one of the major stars in the league back then, he was still a useful player to have on the team, especially off the bench. He was aptly named the 6th Man of the Year in 1994.

Dell Curry's contributions to teams coming off the bench were well appreciated and his best time came when he played for the Hornets from 1988 to 1998. Curry Sr. was also one of the best shooters in the league, a trait he has no doubt passed down to his son Steph. Overall, throughout the 1,083 games he played in the NBA, Dell Curry averaged 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He also shot 45.7 percent from the field, and 40.2 percent from beyond the arc while being a tremendous 84.3 percent shooter from the free-throw line. Although Dell Curry's 16-year NBA journey came to an end in 2002 without a Championship, he laid down the path for his sons to follow in the future. Today, both of his sons, Stephen and Seth are NBA players carving out their own identities.

Sonya Curry who was born in Virginia, also had athletic genes which she has handed down to her children. She used to play sports such as volleyball, track and field, and basketball in high school. Amongst all the sports she played, Sonya Curry was one of Virginia Tech's best volleyball players.

However, she did not pursue a career in sports like her husband, but instead, opted to take the educational route. She passed out of Virginia Tech University with a degree in Education and currently works as an educator. In fact, she is the owner and president of Montessori School located in Charlotte, North Carolina established by her and Dell Curry.

Stephen Curry Siblings

Stephen Curry is the eldest of three siblings. He has one younger brother named Seth and a younger sister named Sydel.

Stephen's younger brother Seth has also followed his father and brother into the professional basketball world. Although not as successful as his older brother, Seth Curry is progressing towards a better career. Standing just 6 feet 1 inch tall, the younger Curry has bounced around the league with several teams and is currently with the Dallas Mavericks playing at the 1 or the 2.

Unlike his older brother, Stephen, who is already a four-time NBA Champion, Seth's career has not had a high level of impact. He also has not won an NBA Championship, but at 34 years of age, he still has a few good years left before he hangs up his shoes.

Sydel Curry was born in 1994 as the youngest sibling in the Curry household. Even though Sydel has not followed her brothers into the professional world of sports, she too, like her mother was a volleyball player at Elon University from 2014 to 2016. Things were not easy for her as every time her abilities were underestimated due to the big shoes she was trying to fill as part of the Curry family. Yet, she did win the MVP of her team in 2016 but later retired from the game in 2017 following an injury.

Sydel is currently an advocate for mental health and a content creator having worked various jobs. She is married to basketball player Damion Lee and is a mother of two beautiful children.

Stephen Curry is the husband of Ayesha Disa Curry, who is an actress, author of cookbooks, and a cooking presenter on TV. Ayesha Curry is of mixed racial and ethnic heritage as her father, John Alexander, has African-American and Polish origins while her mother, Carol Alexander is of Afro-Jamaican and Chinese-Jamaican descent. The 35-year-old also has four siblings named Chad, Janiece, Jaz, and Maria. The couple married in 2011 and have four children together named, Riley Elizabeth Curry, Ryan Carson Curry, Canon W. Jack Curry, and Caius Chai Curry.

Stephen Curry Daughters

Stephen and Ayesha Curry have two daughters. Riley Elizabeth Curry was born on July 19, 2012. Riley has developed an interest in volleyball and cooking. She even made chicken piccata for her parents in 2022.

The couple’s second daughter, Ryan was born on July 10, 2015. According to her parents, she is still deciding whether she wants to develop a career in sports. Nevertheless, she shares a close bond with her father and often attends his basketball games to cheer him on. She, like her mother and sister, is also a member of Beyonce’s Beyhive.

Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s third youngest child is their son Canon W. Jack Curry. Born on July 2, 2018, Canon Curry is six years old. Curry and his wife explained that they chose the name of their son while in France. The word canon is a French name meaning “young wolf" and since both of them consider their family to be a wolfpack, the name fits perfectly. Curry has also stated that his son is the most social of all his children and considers pre-K to be middle school. Their youngest child is Caius Chai Curry who was born on May 11, 2024. There is not much information and is seen very rarely in public.
