Yuta Watanabe is a Japanese basketball player. He has in the past played for teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. He will now be playing in the Guard-Forward position for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA in the upcoming season.

Yuta Watanabe was born on October 13, 1994 in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. He always wanted to join the NBA as a basketball player. After his initial schooling in Japan, he traveled to the United States to college. He eventually made his NBA debut for the Memphis Grizzlies on October 27, 2018. He has gained quite a few achievements in basketball career so far. This includes being the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, 2-times member of Atlantic 10 All-Defensive team in 2017 and 2018. He was also a member of the Third Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2018. Outside of the NBA, he has represented Japan at the 2013 East Asia Basketball Championship in Incheon, South Korea.

Watanabe has managed to achieve a PPG of 5.6 with a RPG of 2.4, APG of 0.8 and a PIE of 7.6 in his NBA career so far. He will play for the Japan National Basketball Team in the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

She competed in the Women’s Japan Basketball League. Additionally, she also was a member of the Japan Women’s National Basketball team. She was a role model for his basketball career.

Kumi is very proud of her son and his basketball achievements so far. She was almost moved to tears when her son showed her his first contract in the NBA. Her son is the second Japanese player in the NBA after Yuta Tabuse in 2004.
