If you are looking to gather a summoner armor set in pre hardmode you will need to defeat the Queen Bee boss. To do so, you will need to locate a beehive deep in the underground jungle. Your first Queen Bee spawn comes from destroying the larva found in bee hives, but if you run out of bee hives to loot, there is a way to summon more queen bee bosses to ensure your world generation does not lock you out of a tree of equipment. To gather up a summoner pre hardmode set, you will need to craft some Abeeminations to get enough materials from Queen Bee.
In order to gather 5 honey blocks, you will need to place water onto some liquid honey. Once the water and the honey make contact, the honey will turn into blocks that you can break with a pickaxe. A Stingler can be obtained from many different enemies from the underground jungle-like hornets or spiked jungle slimes. Gathering hive blocks have a chance of spawning some bees so keep swinging your pickaxe to keep the bees off of you. The bottled honey can be obtained from Queen Bee, or you can simply stand next to honey with a glass bottle to craft it yourself.
First, you will want to locate a hive as most of the ingredients you are looking for will be in this hive. Break your way in, try to be conscious of the fact that breaking hive blocks can spawn honey or bees, and place some water above the pool of honey.
If water comes into contact with honey, or vice versa, you can harvest the resulting honey block for crafting. You will also need to get bottled honey so keep some liquid honey around before you turn them all into blocks. Stand next to a pool of honey with a glass bottle in your inventory to craft bottled honey.
You ought to have some hive blocks if you managed to find some pools of honey, if not you will need to track down a hive to mine out 5 hive blocks. These blocks cannot be crafted and you will need to locate a hive in order to gather them. While looking for a hive you will most likely encounter some hornets or jungle slimes. Kill these enemies in order to gather a stinger.
Once you have 5 hive blocks, 1 bottled honey, 5 honey blocks, and a stinger you can craft the Abeemination from your inventory.
That is all you need to craft the Queen Bee spawn item.
To use the Abeemination item you have to be in the underground jungle. You do not have to be in a hive mini biome in order to use the Abeemination and summon Queen Bee. As long as you are in the underground jungle you can summon Queen Bee. Attempting to use it outside of the jungle will not cause anything to happen, the Queen Bee will not spawn and the item will not be consumed.
Using the Abeemination will display the message “Queen Bee has awoken” and the fight begins. You will want a ranged weapon of some kind so that you can keep up with her fast dashes and crowd control the bees that she spawns.
If you are looking to gather some summoner weapons and armor, the first set you can obtain is the bee set. To craft, this armor set you will need to defeat the Queen Bee a few times. Finding one hive is more than enough to have enough materials to fight the Queen Bee half a dozen times and you can collect all the armor and weapons you want for the summoner class. This is also a good way to farm the Queen Bee trophy for your collection.
Congratulations, you now know how to craft a boss spawn item that will give you a leg up in pre-hardmode. Spawning Queen Bee from an Abeemination allows you to summon this boss without being too far deep into a hive. You can get an advantage in this fight just by summoning the boss in an area where you have cleared it out or set up some buffs for yourself. Simply knowing that the Abeemination exists will also grant you some confidence in gathering the entire pre hardmode summoner set.
Queen Bee will drop beeswax that you can use to craft into bee armor or a hornet staff. As beeswax can only be dropped by the Queen Bee you will need to defeat her in order to begin crafting a set of summoner armor. You will need a total of 30 beeswax in order to craft the full set. Each Queen Bee kill will award anywhere from 16-26 beeswax so you will need to defeat her at least 2 times.
To turn honey into a block you will need to pour water on honey or pour honey into the water. Once the honey makes contact with water honey blocks will begin to form. You can collect these blocks by pickaxing them.
Just like every other liquid in the game you can collect honey with a bucket and with similar arrangements to the other infinite liquid glitches, you can replicate honey in the same way. Just place three blocks in a row, raise both edges with another block, and click to drop the honey on top of either side. Some honey should spill over the side, and some honey will pour into the middle. Click fast enough that honey spills over the side and you can still reclaim the honey that is placed on the top of the side block.
