A fourth-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, Josh Sweat has established himself as a formidable defensive end in the NFL. His journey with the Eagles began when they selected him 130th pick in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft using a pick acquired from the Minnesota Vikings in the Sam Bradford trade. In 2021, he earned his first Pro Bowl selection as a replacement for Nick Bosa. In 2022, Sweat showcased his elite skills with 48 tackles and 11 sacks. His contributions were instrumental in the Eagles' Super Bowl LVII appearance, where he recorded a tackle in their narrow 38-35 loss to Kansas City.

After New York Giants physician Russell Warren conducted reconstructive surgery on him Sweat earned his diploma in advance in December 2014 and selected Florida State College.
