Marshawn Davon Thamir Lloyd played for the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans and was the running back for the team. Prior to the Trojans, Lloyd played for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2020-2022 before transferring to USC where he played for the 2023 season. After the conclusion of the 2023 college football season, Lloyd declared for the 2024 NFL draft.

In his true freshman season with the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2020, Lloyd missed the entire college football season due to a torn ACL. Before college, Lloyd attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was picked to play in the Under Armour All-American Game in 2020. Coming out of high school, Lloyd was a five-star recruit who committed to play for South Carolina. Lloyd also played in the 2023 Holiday Bowl and the 2024 Senior Bowl.
