Draymond Green's Parents

Last Modified Oct 24, 2023 18:34 GMT

Draymond Green is a highly acclaimed player and has been the heart and soul of one of basketball’s most respected franchises, the Golden State Warriors. He has been crucial to the Warrior’s success and played alongside the best shooters in modern NBA history: Klay Thompson and Steph Curry.

Klay, Steph and Coach Steve Kerr are the closest things to a family that the 6’6” Power forward could’ve ever asked for. But while we know of Green’s on-court family, let us explore in detail about Draymond Green’s family beyond the Basketball court.

Mary Babers and Wallace Davis

Mary Babers and Wallace Davis are Draymond Green's parents. Mary Babers raised Draymond as a single parent for most of his childhood while working multiple jobs to provide for her family. She instilled in him the values of hard work, determination, and perseverance that have driven him to be the best player among his peers.

Raymond Green entered into Draymond's life when Mary had just divorced Wallace Davis and he was twelve years old at the time. He quickly became a father figure to Draymond, teaching him important life lessons such as discipline, respect, and teamwork which led Draymond to adopt the surname “Green”.

Draymond Green dwelled on his relationship with his stepfather in an interview, saying that his father-son bond with Raymond helped him get over the struggle of not being accepted by his biological father.

Draymond Green Siblings

Draymond Green has four siblings: Torrian Harris, La Toya Babers, Jordan Davis, and Gabby Davis. Torrian Harris is the oldest of Draymond's siblings. He played college Basketball at the University of Nebraska Omaha from 2009 to 2011.

Braylon Green is Draymond’s youngest sibling and was born after Mary Babers divorced Wallace and married Raymond Green. Draymond has been a constant part of Braylon’s life growing up and wants their bond to be strong going forward.

Braylon tried his hand at multiple sports including basketball but eventually picked football as his sport. We will have to wait and see Braylon’s career growth in order to talk more about his life and achievements.

La Toya Babers is Draymond's older sister and attended Saginaw High School before going to Michigan State University and learning teaching and education. La Toya is now a mother and works as an educator at Saginaw High School.

Draymond’s younger two sisters Jordan and Gabby Davis grew up in Ohio. After graduating high school, Jordan attended Indiana University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing. Gabby on the other hand is a high school senior who has an interest in singing and dancing but does appreciate watching sports.

Being part of a large family has helped shape Draymond into becoming not only a great basketball player but someone who values character traits such as determination and resilience – characteristics that are evident throughout all members of his family.

The story of Mary Babers and Raymond Green shows how strong parenting can shape children’s futures positively despite challenging circumstances. Their unwavering dedication towards providing stability for Draymond made him focus on achieving greatness on and off the court.
