Born on January 6, 1993, in Arlington, Massachusetts, Patrick "Pat" Bergin Connaughton plays as the backup shooting guard for the Milwaukee Bucks. At St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts, Connaughton was a multi-sport athlete as he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. He then played both baseball and basketball at the University of Notre Dame. In baseball, he demonstrated such a level of skill as a pitcher that he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2014 MLB Draft with the 121st overall pick.

However, Connaughton chose to pursue his basketball dreams instead. In the 2015 NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets selected Connaughton with the 41st overall pick in the second round. However, he was later traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he spent three seasons. In 2018, Pat Connaughton signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was a key part of the Bucks team that won the NBA championship in 2021. According to Basketball Reference, he averaged 6.9 points and 4.4 rebounds and shot 38.9% from deep in the 2021 NBA Finals.
