Raised in the Uptown neighborhood on the Northside of Chicago, Horton-Tucker attended St. Matthias Elementary School, where he learnt basketball’s ABCD and became the best player in the city. In the 2019 NBA Draft, Horton-Tucker was selected as the 46th overall pick by the Orlando Magic but was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on draft night in exchange for a 2020 second-round draft pick and cash considerations.
Horton-Tucker made history by becoming the second-youngest player to win an NBA championship, achieving this feat at 19 years and 322 days old.
