Dillon joined Sickles High School in Citrus Park, Florida. After playing for two seasons, he transferred to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School in Spring Hill, Florida. Dillon averaged 17.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game as a first-year student. Following a season, he attended the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida.

At Montverde Academy, Dillon played under the head coach Kevin Boyle. As a junior, he participated in the Jordan Brand All-American Game. On April 15, he was titled as the Most Valuable Player for Team Air in the Jordan Brand Classic in Chicago. Dillon scored 18 points against Team Flight and helped Team Air to a 118-109 win in the Jordan Brand Classic.

During his senior year, Dillon averaged 12.3 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. He participated in the GEICO High School National Championship. While playing in the GEICO championship, Dillon grabbed 17 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals in a game against Link Academy.

Dillon got offers from many agencies to play college basketball. On October 25, 2021, he became a member of the University of Texas basketball team. At college, he averaged 4 points, 0.4 blocks, 0.4 assists, and 0.6 steals.
