13th venue of this season, this is the maximum for any season. Traditionally, a very high-scoring venue and when you look at the dimensions you will figure out why. 63 meters on one side, 60 meters on the other, straight down is 73 meters and the shortest pocket is behind the stumps - 54 meters. Average score in the last season (2 matches) was 199 but this particular pitch was not used. This looks like the other pitches around the square. It is a black soil pitch, it will hold nicely. As it is the first game of the season here, the curator must have had a long time time to prepare this track and I'm sure that this is going to be a surface on which a lot of runs are going to be scored tonight. Looking at the pitch you can see a few cracks but it plays much better than it looks, it is going to play much better for the batters. In the last season, both the games were won by the teams batting first. The sides prefer to bat first and put the runs on the board because when you're chasing you're always under pressure. But, there has been an exception in the T20 played between India and Australia. Australia chased a huge score in the last over. So, it doesn't matter when you bat, there are a lot of runs to be had. Plenty of runs and a high-scoring game is what we are expecting but are you brave enough to bat first?

That brings us to the close of yet another day in the IPL. RR have everything to do in their last match against the table-toppers KKR if they want a top-2 finish. PBKS, on the other hand, have earned this satisfying victory and would be hoping to end their campaign on a positive note when they take on SRH next. Sam Curran (Winning captain and Player of the Match, 63* & 2/24) : We bowled really well as a group. The only message was to play for pride. Ellis was absolutely amazing coming into his first game of the season, should have played him earlier (laughs). When I went in, Jonny said it was really tough. It was holding a bit, when Jitesh came in we decided to play it around. With a ground like this, we knew it was getting a couple of sixes. Me and Jonny are leaving after this match, back to England duties. Really frustrating to leave at this stage, would have loved to finish it off but at the same time excited for the World Cup, hopefully we can have a good one. Well, hindsight is a wonderful thing, if we win the last game we would finish on 12 points. Tells how our season has gone, we have had a lot of close games. Hopefully the team can hold on to the talent we have found this year. Plenty of positives. The big run chase in Kolkata, the way Shashank has come into this team has been amazing, also Ashutosh. Harpreet and Arshdeep have bowled really well as well. Good luck to the team for the match against Hyderabad.

Jitesh Sharma: It didn't seem that we would struggle to get there. At one time I thought I wouldn't get any batting. It's a bit of a relief as I managed to get some out of the middle. It was all about intent. I didn't think it was too bad, it was on the slower side but intent can get us more runs Jonny is going for the World Cup. Will keep from the next match. We will see our calibre with our bench strengths in the last game. No doubt we showed what we can do.

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals captain): Maybe a little bit more, we were expecting a touch better better wicket. It's not a 140 kind of a wicket, we should have easily got above 160 with the batting we have and that is where we lost the game. Ideally yes, would have been nicer to have one more bowling option. But I am used to it. We have some quality five bowlers which doesn't affect the combination much. To be honest we have to sit back and accept and going through some failures. We have to find out what's not working well. At the business end of the tournament someone has to raise their hand and win it single handedly. It is definitely a team sport but we needs characters to step us. We know it wasn't a high scoring ground. We are not used to playing in these kinds of wickets. We have to play smart cricket and hit the boundaries here and there. Hopefully the result against KKR goes our way.

Not a lot of people would have given an already eliminated PBKS a whole lot of chance against a much more fancied RR but they have toppled the team from Rajasthan and have handed them their fourth consecutive defeat on the trot.

At the toss, Sam Curran said it is about playing for pride for them and he has walked the talk with both ball and bat in hand for the Punjab Kings.

The target of 145 seemed to be a bit below par at the halfway mark and that meant that PBKS had a relatively easier task on their hands. But, with the quality in the RR bowling line-up they did not make it easy for them at all and made them earn this win.

Boult continued his love affair with the first over as he dismissed Prabhsimran and got RR off to an ideal start. Rossouw came in and looked to be positive and scored a brisk 22 before Avesh Khan came in and delivered a double wicket over as he took out Rossouw and Shashank. The innings went into a bit of a lull as the spinners put the choke on the batters, Chahal dismissed a rusty Bairstow in the meanwhile and things looked really interesting at that point.

But then, skipper Curran joined hands with Jitesh and both these batters showed great maturity in bailing their team out. Not only did they bail them out, but also stitched together a 63-run stand with some calculated and smart batting.

Jitesh got out in the 16th over but it was too little too late for RR. Curran was still out there and he was joined by an in-form Ashutosh and the duo took them past the line with ease as they expressed themselves towards the end.

18.5 Avesh Khan to Ashutosh Sharma, Punjab win by 5 wickets. Back of a length delivery down leg, gloved away off the attempted pull, down towards the fine leg region, takes a single to complete a victory. Rajasthan loses their 4th match on the trot.

18.4 Avesh Khan to Ashutosh Sharma, SIX! This is a colossal blow from Ashutosh Sharma. Right in the slot from Avesh Khan, around the middle stump channel, Ashutosh holds his shape and climbs into that, dispatches this well over the long-on fence for a maximum.

18.3 Avesh Khan to Sam Curran, squeezes away the blockhole delivery a shade outside off, down towards the long-on region and takes a single.

This should be the blow that seals the game for PBKS, they need less than a run-a-ball now

18.2 Avesh Khan to Sam Curran, SIX! This might just be the game clinching shot from Sam Curran. Pace-on back of a length delivery from Avesh Khan, Curran holds his shape and swats it away flat and hard and comfortably clears the deep midwicket fence.

18.1 Avesh Khan to Ashutosh Sharma, slashed away off the outer half of the bat for a single, on a hard-length a shade outside off and Ashutosh just about manages to clear the point fielder, has to settle for a single.

He was executing the yorkers so well but chose to go to the bouncer on the last ball and for the second consecutive time the last ball goes wrong for RR but PBKS will take that as they move closer to what should be a win for them. 15 needed off 2 overs and this is Punjab's game to lose.
