Andre Lamont Johnson, popularly known as Andre Johnson, is a former American football wide receiver. The former Texan who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2024 became the first player to wear the gold jacket by starting their career with the Houston Texans. The 7-time Pro Bowler won the National Championship with the Miami Hurricanes in 2001, a team considered by many to be the best college team ever assembled. In his three year-tenure with the Hurricanes, Andre Johnson went on to rack up 1,831 receiving yards along with 20 touchdowns. His prowess did not disappear when he entered the NFL in 2003, as he went on to have almost 1000 receiving yards in his rookie season. Andre played for 12 years in Houston and went on to establish many records for the franchise which still stand as of today. His most noteworthy records with Texans include 1,012 receptions and 13,597 receiving yards. Johnson finished his 14-year long HOF career by playing the last two seasons with Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans.
