Born on January 13, 1994, in Kraljevo, Serbia, Vasilije Micić is a 6-foot-5 point guard for the Charlotte Hornets. Throughout his career, he played for several European teams, with his most notable tenure at Anadolu Efes. Upon joining Efes in 2018, he became the starting point guard and helped lead the team to the EuroLeague Finals, where they lost to CSKA Moscow. However, the 2020-21 season was historic for Micić, as he led Anadolu Efes to a EuroLeague title and won MVP. He became the first player in EuroLeague history to make over 132 two-pointers, 70 three-pointers, and 100 free throws in a single season. That same year, his fellow Serbian, Nikola Jokić, won the NBA MVP, making them the first pair from the same country to earn both NBA and EuroLeague MVP titles in the same season.

In the 2021-22 EuroLeague season, Micić set career highs with an average of 18.2 points per game, which earned him the Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy. He also averaged 4.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds, and he led Efes to back-to-back EuroLeague titles. He hit the winning three-pointer in the semifinal against Olympiacos and scored 23 points in the final against Real Madrid, earning him the Final Four MVP once again. Micić joined the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2023 offseason and was later traded to the Hornets in February 2024. After joining Charlotte, he got the chance to start several games in the remaining 2023/24 NBA season due to an injury to LaMelo Ball. In the 2023-24 season with the Hornets, Micić averaged 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 21 starts of 30 games.
