DK Metcalf Injury Update: Will he play in Week 14?

DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks looks on during the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders

DK Metcalf, who hurt his hip and was out for two days, is "ready to go," according to Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who informed the media on Friday.

Metcalf's issue developed during the week, and he missed practice on Friday after participating in a light training session on Thursday. Carroll confirmed his availability for Sunday, so it was more of a recovery issue.

It's encouraging to see Carroll upbeat regarding Metcalf's prospects of participating in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers after the Seahawks' injury woes over the last week.

DK Metcalf should be pumped up as a low-end WR1 on Sunday since his on-field talent outweighs any injury worries.

DK Metcalf's stats and fantasy prediction

The 2022 season's biggest shock will likely be the Seahawks. Many dismissed this side as a stalling group after they dealt away Russell Wilson. Meanwhile, Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and the team as a whole demonstrated that they could be, at least, as excellent as they were.

In Week 13's game against the Los Angeles Rams, Metcalf had an excellent showing, recording eight catches for 127 yards and a score. It was his fifth touchdown and second-highest yards total of the year.

In the 12 games played this season, Metcalf has recorded 67 catches for 798 yards and five touchdowns. Although he may not have as many touchdowns as he had the previous two years, every other aspect has been good.

He ought to put on another good showing against a Carolina Panthers defensive line that concedes the 14th-most per-game fantasy points to wideouts.

This campaign, with Geno Smith in charge of attacking plays, DK Metcalf has averaged 11.6 fantasy points per game.

Even if Metcalf's usage is under scrutiny, fantasy owners should be at ease with starting him. He should still put up respectable stats in Week 14 against the Panthers' 20th-ranked secondary.

For the Seattle Seahawks this season, Geno Smith has found a new pedal because of Metcalf's offensive impact. In terms of overall yards this season, the All-Pro wideout is closely trailing his seasoned partner Tyler Lockett.

Smith's life is significantly made easier by his ability to find openings and make contested receptions.
