Gregory Newsome II is an American football cornerback for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. The Browns drafted Newsome with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Newsome started 11 games and recorded 37 tackles in his rookie season and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. The following season, Newsome hauled a sack and 42 tackles. Newsome recorded his best statistics till date during the 2023 season, where he recorded a total of a sack, 49 tackles and an interception. In April 2024, the Browns exercised the fifth-year option on Newsome’s contract.

Newsome ​​committed to Northwestern University for collegiate football in 2018. Newsome started four games and recorded 23 tackles in his debut season. In 2019, Newsome played nine games and hauled 36 tackles. As a junior, he was named to second team All-America by both Phil Steele and the Football Writer Association of America, Consensus first-team All-Big Ten, Associated Press Big Ten first team and Third-team Associated Press All-America in 2020. Newsome decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL draft of 2021. For his high school education, Newsome attended Glenbard North High School, prior to joining IMG Academy.
