Jermaine Curtis Johnson II is an American football linebacker for the New York Jets in the NFL. The Jets selected Johnson as the 26th pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He attended Eden Prairie High School for his primary education, where began playing football. As a senior in high school, he was named All-Metro after recording 37 tackles and seven sacks. Johnson's collegiate career began at Independence Community College in 2017. As a freshman, he recorded 58 tackles and eight sacks.

Johnson transferred to Georgia College in 2019, where he recorded 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks. As a senior in 2020, the linebacker finished third on the team with four sacks and 16 total tackles. In 2021, Johnson played for Florida State, recording seven tackles against the Seminoles. After he finished the season with 70 tackles, Johnson was named first-team All-ACC and ACC Defensive Player of the Year. He started his NFL career with the Jets as a rookie, appearing in 14 games recording 29 tackles in 2022.
