North-Carolina Born linebacker Julius Frazier Peppers played for 17 seasons in the NFL. He was drafted as the second overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. Peppers finished his remarkable NFL career with 719 total tackles and 159.5 sacks. Peppers is the first player from the Carolina Panthers to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Peppers attended Bailey Elementary School and Southern Nash High School in North Carolina. He played defensive tackle and running back in high school, finishing with 3,501 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns. Peppers had a decorated career before getting drafted as he won the Chuck Bednarik and Lombardi Award along with the Bill Willis Trophy in 2001. He committed to the University of North Carolina as their defensive end in 1998. Peppers was named to the All-Atlantic Conference as he led the nation with 15 quarterback sacks in his sophomore year. During his three years at North Carolina, Peppers appeared in 34 games, starting 33 of them. He holds the second-best record in UNC history for most Sacks (30.5). He’s also recorded 53 stops behind the line of scrimmage, 167 tackles and five interceptions in his college.
