Tyler Batty is an American college footballer playing as a defensive end for Brigham Young University as of April 2025. At the 2025 NFL Combine, Batty ran the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds, recorded a 10-foot broad jump and a vertical jump of 34 inches. Some of the biggest achievements of Batty's career include making it to the First Team All-Big 12 in 2024, Second Team All-Big 12 in 2023, and becoming the Independence Bowl Defensive MVP in 2021. He started 13 games in 2024, making 59 tackles, 2 interceptions, 7 tackles for loss, and 2 pass breakups.

Batty entered the 2024 season as the BYU Cougar's career leader in sacks, with 15, the fifth most among BYU players since 2000. He also secured the fifth rank among the Power Five players with 101 career quarterback pressures. In 2023, he competed in all 12 games with 57 tackles and two forced fumbles. For his exemplary performance in the field of philanthropy, he was awarded the AFCA All-State Good Works Team for 2023.

According to Fox 13, the family resides on a ranch in Payson, where they run a non-profit organization named Edward's Hands, which provides equine therapy for people with special needs. The non-profit was named after his former BYU coach Ed Lamb's son Edward, who was treated for equine therapy on the Batty Family's ranch.

Tyler Batty shared, "We started working with Edward, and the changes that they [Lamb family] saw and just the impact that it had on their family, that was really the spark." (via Fox 13)

Tyler Batty, during his interview with Fox 13 in 2023, revealed how his father inspired him to start the non-profit organization, Edward's Hands. He said, "My dad, he's a big cowboy. We spent a lot of time outside growing up. He has always shared his passion. He loves horses, and there's a lot of therapeutic benefits that comes from horse riding. He has been doing equine therapy under the radar for a lot of years."
