Alperen Sengun, a basketball center for the Houston Rockets, was born on July 25, 2002. He was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 16th pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. He was then transferred to the Houston Rockets. He represented Turkey in the 2018 FIBA Europe U-16 Championship, winning bronze and the 2019 FIBA Europe U-18 Championship, winning a silver medal. He started playing professionally in the second-tier Turkish First League (TBL) with Bandırma Kırmızı during the 2018-19 season.

In his three seasons with the Rockets, he has played in 210 games, starting 148, averaging 14.9 points, 3.8 assists and 7.9 rebounds, as of the end of the 2023-24 season.
