Three-time NBA champion JaVale Lindy McGee is a veteran center who plays for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA).


Born January 19, 1988, in Flint, Michigan, U.S., McGee is the son of former Olympic gold medalist Pamela McGee. He attended Detroit Country Day School and Providence Christian in Michigan, before transferring to Chicago where he attended Hales Franciscan High School.


For college, McGee attended University of Nevada, where he played college basketball. After averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in his sophomore season, McGee declared for the 2008 NBA Draft.


The Washington Wizards drafted McGee with the 18th overall pick in 2008. He has since played for several NBA teams, including the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and the Sacramento Kings.


He won back-to-back NBA championships (2017 and 2018) with the Warriors and one more with the Lakers in 2020.


Internationally, McGee won gold with the United States national basketball team at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
