The New York Jets running back Breece Hall was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in Wichita, Kansas, where he attended Wichita Northwest High School. He was taken by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft with their 36th overall pick. A standout player since his school days, the 5 ft 11 in ball carrier won Wichita Metro Player of the Year for his 2,127 yards of rushing and 29 touchdowns. He was also the first-team All-State twice. He then committed to Iowa State University from 2019-2021. In his 3 years with the Cyclones, he was named second-team All-Big 12 in his debut season and Unanimous All-American in 2020. After getting drafted by the Jets, Hall signed his four-rookie contract, and as of week 8 of the 2024 season, he has recorded 1,885 rushing yards while also hauling in 128 receptions for 1,125 yards. The dual-threat running back has scored 18 total touchdowns as of week 8 of the 2024 NFL season.

Hall was born to parents Larhonda McDaniel and Raquel Guerra in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 31, 2001. However, the two parted ways shortly after Hall was born (via Pro Football Network). Growing up, Hall lived with his stepfather Jeff Smith, who also happens to be a former professional American footballer. However, Smith isn’t the only one from Hall’s family to make it to the NFL. One of his cousins, Kenton Keith also had a stint with the Jets in 2004, and it was a full-circle moment for the family when Hall made his way over to the same team. Keith, later, also spent a year with the Indianapolis Colts. But, perhaps, the most famous of Hall’s family members is his third cousin - also a running back and a three-time Super Bowl Champion by the name of Roger Craig.

Hall’s mother is Larhonda McDaniel. While she had Hall with Raquel Guerra, the pair eventually split up. Instead, Hall grew up with McDaniel’s second partner Jeff Smith, who is also a celebrated football player.

The family and Larhonda in particular, have been extremely supportive of Breece Hall's career. He even spent a touching moment with his mother during his final game at the program (via Pro Football Network). “I was overwhelmed. It was a big moment for him and the team and the fans. When I saw his tears as he was running toward me, I just lost it. He’s so humble, but to see him took my breath away,” said his mother (according to Pro Football Network).

Hall was born to Raquel Guerra. However, not much is known about his relationship or time with his birth father as of 2024.

His step-father Smith was a four-year NFL Pro who spent the majority of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was a late draftee by the Chiefs in the 1985 NFL Draft, going in the 10th round with the 257th overall pick. He appeared in 56 total games and rushed for 752 yards.
