Darius Slay Jr. is an American football cornerback playing for the Philadelphia Eagles as of February 2025. He was selected as the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He is a veteran of the league and has spent the first seven years of his professional career with the Lions. In 2020, he decided to join the Eagles in the offseason. As of February 2025, Slay has posted 619 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 28 interceptions (via Pro Football Reference).
He began his football journey at Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Georgia, where in addition to football, he also participated in basketball and track and field. After high school, he initially attended Itawamba Community College, but later transferred to Mississippi State University. He committed to playing college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the alum had a stellar collegiate career. He concluded his collegiate career at Mississippi State with 64 tackles, six interceptions and two touchdowns as per Sports Reference.
