Georgia-born defensive end Derrick Brown was drafted in the first round (7th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie year with the Panthers, he started 15 games recording 34 tackles which was third highest among the NFL rookies. He was named into the PFWA All-Rookie Team 2020 for his performance. Brown continued his form for the next few seasons as he ranked second on the most tackles recorded (142) in the first three seasons with the Panthers.
