American football wide receiver DeVonta Smith plays for the Philadelphia Eagles as of January 2025. The Eagles drafted him as the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was a starter from his rookie season as he appeared in all 17 games in 2021. Smith recorded 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie year as per Pro Football Reference. In the 63 games Smith has played over four seasons for the Eagles, he averages 13 yards per carry and has 27 touchdowns. He has also played in seven playoff games while recording 35 receptions for 481 yards.

Growing up in Louisiana, Smith attended Amite High School. He was a versatile athlete who could play basketball and track as well. Smith committed to the University of Alabama in 2017. Smith caught eight passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns in eight games as a true freshman at Alabama in 2017 as per Sports Reference. He had a breakout senior year as he led the conference in receptions (117), receiving yards (1856) and receiving touchdowns (23). Smith also won several awards like Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Award and Fred Biletnikoff Award as well.
