Luke August Kuechly is a former American football linebacker who played for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. The Panthers selected him as the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Throughout his entire NFL career, he played exclusively for the Panthers. Kuechly achieved remarkable success, being named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012. He was a five-time First-team All-Pro (2013–2015, 2017, 2018) and earned Second-team All-Pro honors twice, in 2016 and 2019.
