Texas-born football guard Robert Hunt was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round (39th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie year with the Dolphins, Hunt started 11 games playing in all 16 and recording 720 offensive snaps. The following season, he started all the games of the regular season. Hunt recorded two consecutive 1000 offensive snaps seasons with 100% of available snaps taken. In his four years at Miami Dolphins, Hunt has started 61 games and has 3,477 offensive snaps. At the end of his rookie contract, Hunt signed a five-year deal with the Carolina Panthers on March 13, 2024.


After struggling with having to relocate a few times in his childhood, Hunt started living with his aunt in Newton County. He attended Burkeville High School and earned a district selection twice. Hunt committed to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette playing for the Cajuns in 2015. He served as a member of the scout team after being redshirted in his freshman year. Hunt started all of his 13 games at left tackle the following year. His college career took off in 2018 as he was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team. Hunt had a breakout season in 2019, as he had 6.28 yards per carry which was third most nationally as he was also ranked fourth nationally for rushing touchdowns (42). Hunt was invited to the 2020 Combine event following his successful Senior season.
