Thomas James Hockenson is an American football tight end who plays for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. The Detroit Lions selected Hockesnon as the 8th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his rookie game, he had six receptions with a total gain of 131 yards. After Week four of the 2019 season, it was declared that he had a concussion and would not be available to play. Consequently, he was put on the injured reserve list. In his initial year, he had made 32 catches for 367 yards and two touchdowns. After the 2020 season, he was named to the 2021 Pro Bowl. In their next season, the Lions exercised the fifth-year option on Hockenson’s contract. Later on, in November, he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Finally, the Vikings signed him in 2023 under a four-year contract.

Hockenson made a decision to play collegiate football at the University of Iowa. He redshirted through his freshman year and finished the 2017 season with 24 catches for 320 yards and three touchdowns. By the conclusion of the 2018 season, he had 46 receptions, 717 yards received, and scored six times. He also played basketball at Chariton High School, in addition to football.
