Will Sheppard lettered for the Vanderbilt University football program from 2020 to 2023. Over four seasons, he appeared in 42 games, recording 152 receptions for 2,067 yards and 21 touchdowns. He averaged 13.6 yards per catch. He was a Second-team All-SEC in 2022. Sheppard transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder for the 2024 season. He played in 13 games for the Buffaloes, recording 48 receptions for 621 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 12.9 yards per catch. Combined in both schools, Sheppard ended his college career with 200 receptions, 2,688 yards, and 27 touchdowns in 55 games.
