American football guard Xavier Newman-Johnson plays for the New York Jets as of November 2024. The Tennessee Titans recruited him as an undrafted agent after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Newman-Johnson made his NFL Debut in December 2022 against the Dallas Cowboys. After spending two seasons with the Jets, Newman-Johnson was traded to the New York Jets in October 2023. Newman-Johnson took switches from being sent to the practice squad and back to the active roster at the beginning of his Jets career.

Growing up in Texas, Newman-Johnson attended DeSoto High School. As a senior, an All-American and all-state selection in football. Newman-Johnson was listed by ESPN as one of the top 300 recruits in the country. Newman-Johnson committed to the University of Texas before switching to Colorado and then finally to Baylor University. He was a regular straight from his freshman season starting eight of the 11 games he appeared in. Newman-Johnson appeared in 57 games in his college career from 2017 to 2022.
