Jakob Porltl plays as the center for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA. When the Raptors selected him as the 9th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, Poeltl became the first Austrian player to make it into the NBA.


At 7 feet 1 inches tall, Poeltl was the only Raptors player to play all 82 games in 2017/18 NBA regular season. After playing two seasons with the Raptors, he was traded to San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kwahi Leonard and Danny Green. In November 2022, he scored his career-high 31 points against the Portland Trail Blazers.


After the 2022-23 season, Jakob became a free agent and decided to re-sign with the team that drafted him, the Toronto Raptors! Poeltl is known for his efficient post-up plays.
