Ahmed Hassanein is a defensive end who played for Boise State University between 2021 and 2024. Born in the US, he moved to Cairo, Egypt, at the age of six to live with his father. In 2018, he relocated to Anaheim, California, where he lived with his half-brother, Cory Besch, who introduced him to American football( via Orange County Register feature about Ahmed Hassanein).
Hassanein began his college career with the Boise State Broncos in 2021. Over four seasons, he played in 40 games and recorded 119 tackles (69 solo), 35 tackles for loss, 24 sacks, and three forced fumbles. In 2023, Hassanein had a breakout season, achieving 12.5 sacks, which ranked sixth in Boise State's single-season records. That year, he earned First-Team All-Mountain West honors. In 2024, he was named a team captain, received First-Team All-Mountain West honors again, and earned an Honorable Mention All-America from the College Football Network (via Boise State Broncos roster)
