Rated as a four-star recruit, Edwards-Helaire committed to play for his home state Louisiana State University. Edwards-Helaire was announced as the starting running back going into his junior season. Edwards-Helaire played a major role in LSU’s victory over third-ranked Alabama. He finished the regular season with 1,414 rushing yards, which ranked third-most in a single season. He shared the stage with Joe Burrow for the SEC co-offensive Player of the Week.
