Desmond Ridder is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders as of the 2024 NFL season. The Atlanta Falcons selected him as the 74th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Louisville, Kentucky-born Ridder attended St. Xavier High School, where he was named All-Metro for passing 1,319 yards and adding 668 yards on the ground in his senior year. Following this, he opted for the University of Cincinnati in 2017. Ridder started 48 games for the Bearcats, where he passed for more than 10k yards. He was twice named AAC Offensive Player of the Year (2020, 2021) and AAC Rookie of the Year in 2018. After getting drafted in 2022, he played two seasons with the Falcons, during which he started 17 games. During his two-year tenure at Atlanta, he amassed more than 3,500 passing yards and 19 total touchdowns. He got traded to the Arizona Cardinals on March 14, 2024. After the Cardinals moved him to the practice squad, he was signed off by the Las Vegas Raiders on October 21, 2024.
