The San Francisco 49ers have moved closer to securing the Super Bowl title, beating the Green Bay Packers during the divisional round in a 24-21 win and the Detroit Lions in the Conference Championship game 34-31. Every player has played a significant role in the team’s success, delivering outstanding performance throughout the 2023 season.

Jake Moody is an American football player currently representing the 49ers in the National Football League in the placekicker position. Moody has demonstrated true potential as a rookie, setting a franchise record for longest successful kick of 57 yards by a rookie kicker.

Born in Commerce, Michigan, the young placekicker began his football journey during his high school years at Northville High School, where he played high school football. He committed to playing college football at the University of Michigan. He played for the Michigan Wolverines from 2018 to 2022, earning several accolades including the Lou Groza Award, Consensus All-American honor, and secured a spot on the first-team All-Big Ten consecutively in 2021 and 2022. Additionally, he earned the title of Bakken-Andersen Kicker of the Year in 2021 and 2022.

After concluding his collegiate career at Michigan, he embarked on his NFL journey with the 49ers, having been selected as the 99th overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He became just the second kicker chosen in the top 100 selections since 2016. Moody has had an excellent rookie campaign making 21 of 25 field goal attempts and 60 of 61 point after touchdown attempts this year. Scoring 127 points, his longest field goal has been 57 yards.

Moddy appeared in his first Super Bowl on February 11, 2024, when the 49ers took on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. Unfortunately for Moody, his first Super Bowl didn't go his way as the 49ers ended up losing a close game 22-25. Moody, for his part converted all of his 3 field goal attempts but had one point after touchdown blocked which allowed the Chiefs to tie the game with a field goal instead of looking for a touchdown as the fourth quarter came to an end.
