Jer’Zhan Newton, who also goes by the name of “Johnny” is an American football player who last played for the Illinois Fighting Illini football team in 2023. Newton, who is 21 years old as of March 2024, was born on August 31, 2002, in the city of St. Petersburg, Florida. He has been around the game of gridiron football as a young child growing up with his brothers who are all passionate about the game.
The Florida native played the defensive tackle position at the University of Illinois for three years. After his junior year of college, he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft where he was considered a late first or early second-round pick.
