Kareem Hunt is a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs as of March 2025. He was selected by the team in the 2017 NFL Draft's third round, #86 pick. Hunt, a native of Elyria, Ohio, went to South High School in Willoughby, Ohio, where he played for the Rebels. As a junior, he rushed for 2,519 yards while scoring 39 touchdowns. His senior year saw him rush for 2,685 yards and 44 touchdowns as per the official Toledo website. He then enrolled at the University of Toledo from 2013-2016. In his four years as a Rocket, he rushed for more than nearly 5,000 yards with 45 total touchdowns. He was named First-team All-MAC in his sophomore season and also in his last year at college. Hunt set the league ablaze in his rookie season with the Chiefs by rushing for 1,327 yards. This helped him not only get selected to a PFWA All-Rookie Team but also got him a nod at the Pro Bowl. However, he has not been able to replicate his rookie season performance since then. His other two notable seasons came in 2018 and 2020, where he rushed for 824 and 841 yards respectively. He also spent four seasons on the Cleveland Browns roster from 2019 to 2023. In 2024, he signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs beginning his second spell with the organization. As of March 2025, Hunt recorded 5,164 rushing yards, and 2,066 receiving yards with 64 total touchdowns.
