Lavonte Lamar David is a professional American football linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. The Buccaneers selected David as the 58th pick in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. According to Pro Football Reference, David has made 198 appearances while accumulating 1,602 total tackles and 1,111 solo tackles in his 13-year NFL career. He is a Super Bowl LV champion and a one-time Pro Bowl nominee in 2015.

Going to David's Northwestern High School days, the team won back-to-back state championships in 2006 and 2007 when Lavonte played for them. David committed to the Fort Scott Community College in 2008. In his first collegiate season, David led the team with 93 tackles. He went through an undefeated season, before losing in the JUCO national championship game in 2009. He transferred to the University of Nebraska starting his junior year in 2010. He posted 152 tackles, setting a single-season record in Cornhusker history that year. David won the inaugural Butkus-Fitzgerald Big Ten Linebacker of the Year award in 2011 and was named to First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big Ten in 2011.
