He also was named as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Male Athlete of the Year in his senior year. Hooke committed to the Ohio State University, playing for the Buckeyes from 2014 to 2018. He was part of the 2014 CFP National Championship-winning team. In his collegiate career, Hooker appeared in 26 games.
