Marquez Valdes-Scantling won the 2022 and 2023 Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 29-year-old receiver made his third stop at Buffalo after getting drafted by Green Bay in 2018 draft. After getting released by Kansas City Chiefs following a Super Bowl winning season, Marquez inked an one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills in May 2024.

He came close in 2022 but still wasn't able to eclipse his 2020 season which still remains his most successful season till date. In the 2020 season, Valdes-Scantling participated in 16 games and started 12 games. He recorded 33 receptions for an impressive 690 yards. He averaged 20.9 yards per catch, with 6 touchdowns which included a 78-yard longest run. As a rusher, he made 4 attempted carries and rushed for 13 yards. His average rushing per game was 3.3, his longest run was 9 and his total number of fumbles and fumbles lost were 1 for each.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s parents are Marcellus Scantling and Tahisia Scantling. He was born to them on October 10, 1994, in St. Petersburg, Florida, U.S. The couple has three children in total whom they managed to raise phenomenally well despite having a very busy schedule.

Marcellus Scantling is Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s father. He is a senior electronic engineer and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering from Tampa College and a business degree from the University of Phoenix. His professional experience includes contributing to a program at the Kennedy Space Center focused on transitioning the space shuttle's technology from analog to digital.

It was his father whom Valdes-Scantling went to for advice when he wanted to transfer to a new college in 2015. After getting his father’s reassurance, he was able to make a decision to transfer to the University of South Florida from North Carolina State University. Valdes-Scantling has called his father his coach in an interview, someone who is like a rock and silent support to him.

Tahisia Scantling is Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s mother. After having Marquez Valdes-Scanting, she returned to school and obtained a high school diploma. She pursued higher education, earning a bachelor's degree from St. Petersburg College and a master's degree from the University of West Florida. Currently, she works at a successful Commercial Real Estate Agency and is very active on her Instagram account @therealtahisia.
