Michael Penix Jr. is an American quarterback playing for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. Born on May 8, 2000, the Falcons drafted him as the 8th pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. In 2022, Penix was transferred to the University of Washington where he excelled further. He set a new school record with 4,641 passing yards, helping the Huskies achieve an 11-2 record. He earned the AP Comeback Player of the Year award for his powerful performance. In his senior year, Penix led Washington to an undefeated season and took them to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. He led the NCAA with 4,903 passing yards, won the Maxwell Award, and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting.
