Teddy Bridgewater is an American NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions in the 2024 NFL season. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In his NFL career, he has played for seven NFL teams including Vikings, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and the Detroit Lions. Notably, Bridgewater officially announced his retirement in February 2024 but returned to the NFL with the Lions in December of the same year.

As a college athlete, Bridgewater chose to play football at the University of Louisville, where he played from 2011 to 2013. He also led his team to victory in the 2013 Sugar Bowl and was named the game's MVP. Before committing to Louisville, he played high school football at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, where he earned a four-star recruit rating from Rivals.com.
