Tua Tagovailoa is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. The 2023 passing yards leader began his professional journey with the Dolphins after being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the fifth overall pick. Born in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Tagovailoa established himself as a magnificent quarterback long before entering the National Football League. He started his football journey at Saint Louis School in Honolulu and subsequently played college football at the University of Alabama. During his college years, he bagged numerous achievements and accolades including the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award.

Furthermore, he was named the Sporting News College Football Player of the Year in 2018. In the same year, he was the Offensive MVP of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. Additionally, he was also named the Polynesian Football Player of the Year consecutively in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, Tagovailoa graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. In 2021, he was named the primary starter for the Dolphins after alternating between backup and starter roles throughout his rookie season. Starting from the 2022 season till the end of the 2023 season, he threw for 54 passing touchdowns.
