Kevin Love is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat. Love plays the position of the power forward or center in the NBA. Love is the son of former NBA player Stan Love and has carved his own place in the NBA. He was a top recruit coming out of high school and committed to play for the University of California Los Angeles Bruins. His college career was impeccable having been named All-American First Team, Pac-10 Player of the Year and multiple such accolades not to mention that he recorded 23 double-doubles in the 2007-08 season. In 2008, Love was drafted as the 5th overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies and was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves where he made his mark as a prolific rebounder and shooter. Love has been named to the All-Star games 5 times in his career. Love also holds the record for the most number of consecutive double-doubles in NBA history with 53 consecutive games. He has cemented his name in the history of the NBA after having won a seemingly impossible championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Olympics with Team USA.

Stan was drafted into the NBA in 1971 by the Baltimore Bullets, now known as the Washington Wizards as the 9th overall pick. Later, Stan moved on to play overseas basketball in Europe. It was Stan’s decision to train Kevin Love in basketball from a very young age.


Karen Love is a retired nurse who worked primarily in neo-natal intensive care divisions. She is known to be one of the biggest supporters of Love and has always been there to watch him pursue his athletic endeavours.
