Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry showed love to his brother-in-law and former teammate, Phoenix Suns guard Damion Lee. The latter came up clutch for his team in their opening game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Lee hit a contested shot off-balance over Spencer Dinwiddie with seven seconds left on the game clock. He gave the Suns a 107-105 lead, which was the eventual scoreline. Curry spent the night watching Lee and the Suns in action. When the former Warriors guard made the final shot, Curry erupted in wild celebrations.

He hilariously woke up his son Cannon in the process. Curry posted the video on his Instagram stories, which went viral online. Here's the clip:

"Yeah Dame, stick with it! The kids are asleep, I don't care, stick with it! I'm sorry Cannon's crying, I woke him up," said Curry.

When it comes to celebrations, Steph Curry is never far off behind. He was certainly not going to skip celebrating a joyous moment after his brother-in-law and former teammate Damion Lee made the winning play for his new team.

How are Steph Curry and Damion Lee related?

Steph Curry and Damion Lee are not just former teammates, but family too. Lee married Curry's sister Sydel in September 2018. Steph and his brother Seth were the groomsmen at the wedding. Shortly after, Lee and Curry began playing as teammates for the Warriors in the 2018-19 NBA season.

Since then, Curry and Lee have shared a close relationship. They even won their first championship as teammates last year. Lee left the Dubs in free agency this summer to join the Phoenix Suns on a standard one-year veteran minimum contract.

Damion Lee has already started making an impact on his new team. Playing for a successful team alongside an all-time great like Steph Curry seems to have already paid dividends for the 29-year-old.

The Suns-Warriors matchup is only going to be the second time that Lee and Curry will play against each other in the NBA. Damion Lee's first showdown against his brother-in-law came during the 2017-18 season as a member of the Atlanta Hawks.

He recorded ten points and eight rebounds in that game. Steph Curry and the Warriors won the tie 106-94 behind the two-time MVP's 29-point outing in only 25 minutes. The Phoenix Suns are considered among the teams that could cause an upset against the defending champions Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference playoffs.

It would be interesting to see the brother-in-law’s matchup against each other in that scenario. Lee could play a prominent role on the Suns roster, especially after his exploits in the opening game of the season.
