BREAKING NEWS: Strauss steps down as director of England Cricket
Andrew Strauss has resigned as director of England Cricket after three-and-half years in the role.
The former England opening batsman stood down temporarily for the English summer on compassionate leave to support his wife, Ruth, as she underwent treatment for cancer.
Strauss has now decided to take a more flexible position within the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Andy Flower covered for Strauss over the last four months and will stay in the job until December while the ECB search for a full-time successor.
